Smothered with Love

Lydia is an extremely enthusiastic big sister. Our biggest challenge at home is teaching her appropriate boundaries with her little brother. She constantly wants to hug and kiss him and love on him. She does this at all times: when he is sleeping, when he is eating, when he is crying. This makes for some very sweet, sweet moments, but it also has made for some frustration and some laughs. 

Last Thursday, I was trying to take one week pictures of Holden. Lydia saw me with him on the sofa and quickly jumped in. The photo session didn't yield much in terms of pictures of Holden alone, but I kind of love the surprise product.

Pictures of Robin, Lydia, and I together are a hot commodity, since either Robin or I are usually behind the camera. Yesterday we got out the tripod before bringing Lydia to music class. Note her sweater: Grandma Marie and Grandpa Dale brought it back for her from Ireland!

If You Just Couldn't Wait...

Updated photos are on Picasa. I realize that I have neglected the blog during our travels, but we are truly relaxing and enjoying some time away. My shutterbug habit has reached new heights; we had to purchase more Picasa space, so while I apologize for the delay, there are now sixteen gigabytes of storage just waiting to be filled with photos of Lydia. What a difference ten months can make? (Almost to the day.)

I wish I had a shot of Lydia's head-to-toe outfit that day. The superman tee was clearly channeling Aunt Elise, and it was paired with a jean skirt and red-and-white striped leggings. It was pretty awesome.
