Daycare Update - Lemonade from Lemons

I went today and dropped off the registration fee at Lydia's daycare. I am so glad that the deal is done. I kept having fears that she would somehow lose her spot, and we would be stuck without a place for her in the fall.

We also made a decision that might surprise some. As a lot of you know, the company Robin works for has been getting very little business. Turns out urban planning and development are not so recession-friendly. He works on contract, so one of the few upsides in all of this is that his schedule has been a lot more flexible, and he has been able to be available to help with Lydia when needed.

We have decided to take this situation and make the best of it, so we are putting Lydia in daycare only part-time. She'll go three days a week, an arrangement that, as soon as we made it, we both feel really good about. I'm actually a little jealous of Robin; I think being with Lydia for full days mixed with full days of work would be my ideal arrangement--something to ponder for the future, maybe.
