In more important news, Lydia will start school tomorrow at a new center. To keep her in part-time care at Gethsemane, we were required to pick her up at 4:00 and the school day at Lanier doesn't end until 4:20. (The kids come at 9, which means they leave later, also.) A 4:00 pick-up time forced Robin to leave work at 3:30, and since he is already stretching it in our attempt to keep Lydia in part-time care, shortened days on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday were no longer an option now that he has a full work-load. Hopefully he will be able to manage the reduced hours now that he is taking over her care on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If not, we will have to adjust. Lydia will be at the same center as Aidan, so we are hoping that lends some familiarity to the transition. She'll be in a Toddler room, which means she will be sleeping on a cot, eating at a little table, and will learn how to wash her hands and brush her teeth. If only I could be a mouse in a corner...
I am very sad that my time with Lydia during the weekdays has come to an end. If I could ever manage working part-time, I think it would be ideal. I am not cut out to be a full-time stay-at-home mom, but I have loved the time with her. Tomorrow's going to be a hard day. Thankfully, I have these pictures of Lydia in her new backpack to cheer me up! Doesn't she look ready for school?
good luck on your first day back to work! lydia looks adorable.
